Rishabh is a senior undergraduate at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, pursuing two simultaneous degrees in Economics and Civil Engineering. At Pilani, he is an active member of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) which is amongst the premier entrepreneurship cells in India and was a founder member of the National Entrepreneurship Network. Currently, he is involved with the Rural Entrepreneurship Development (RED) wing at CEL. RED helps local communities establish sustainable businesses and find a market for their products. He has also served as the editor of CEL's inaugural international newsletter: Aspire.
He was one of the very few Indians funded by the global NGO consortium Tcktcktck to attend the COP15 at Copenhagen in 2009 and was recently chosen as a student delegate at the prestigious World Business Dialogue which is held annually at the University of Cologne
In the past, he has interned at the International Center for the Advancement of Rural Eye Care (ICARE), the community health care wing of L V Prasad Eye Institute, where he was researching on cost effectiveness of ICARE's intervention as compared to the conventional model of the Government's Primary Health Clinic.
He is currently also involved with a non profit (he prefers the term for-impact), Grassroutes, which sends youth on road trips where they are tied up with NGOs to drive social change. At Grassroutes he works on community outreach and marketing.
His interests lie in sustainable enterprises, education, developmental economics and how the web can be used to drive social change.
