We will never sell or share your personal information with a third party, unless you give us permission, which we will ask for first.

Collecting Your Personal Information

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you. The personal information we collect may include your name, e-mail address, website link and a general information field. The Site may collect certain information about your visit, such as the name of the Internet service provider and the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet; the date and time you access the Site; the pages that you access while at the Site and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to our site. This information is used for the operation and improvement of the Site.

Use of Your Personal Information

The only time we will need your personal information is when you suggest a blog story, news story, research item, job posting or general comment. You can comment anonymously - although we'd love to see your real name! - and you can choose to include a link to your web site or homepage. There are no user accounts on NextBillion.net; unless you suggest something or post a comment, you can remain completely anonymous.

We may occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the top of the privacy statement. For material changes to this privacy statement, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the home page of our web site.

Code of Conduct

By suggesting a story or posting a comment to www.NextBillion.net ("the Site"), you are deemed to have agreed to this Code of Conduct. NextBillion.net reserves the right to delete comments and suggestions that it feels violates any of the following rules. NextBillion.net provides this Site as a resource for community members to share their ideas and opinions on private sector approaches to poverty alleviation and environmental degradation.

We require that all of our community members show respect for other members. We understand that in a diverse community such as this, people will have differing opinions; however, we require that you treat other members’ opinions with respect.

You should be aware of the following restrictions before making a
comment or posting on the Site.

DO NOT:

* Post personal attacks, threats, or encourage violence, bigotry,
racism, or hatred;
* Post comments containing explicit advertising or promotions;
* Post the same comment repeatedly (a.k.a. spamming);
* Post in all capital letters. This is the equivalent of shouting;
* Post in any language other than English;
* Post knowingly false or misleading information;
* Post any information that you do not want to be made public. Confidential information, including anything covered under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), should not be posted;
* Post defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material. Linking to external sites that violate this code of conduct is also prohibited;
* Post materials in violation of another party's copyright or other intellectual property rights;
* Post photos or other material protected by intellectual property laws, rights of privacy or publicity or any other applicable law unless you own or control the rights or have received all necessary permissions.
