Although funding sources have changed, donations for the improvement of global health have increased to $31.3 billion 2013, according to a University of Washington study group.

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington reports that some nations have reduced their foreign assistance budgets in the wake of continued budget shortfalls, but other private and public groups have made up the difference and gone above the previous annual amounts.
