D.light Energy Pvt. Ltd. is looking to hire an experienced and creative Head of Sales & Marketing (India) to rapidly develop a pan-India distribution channel capable of reaching deep rural, while building a powerful global brand from the ground up. This position is based in Noida, UP India and will report directly to, and work closely with, the Country Head (India) to continuously launch innovative and affordable lighting and power consumer products and marketing strategies. This position is an incredible opportunity to impact millions of people. Our goal is to eradicate kerosene lanterns from earth and provide household level energy to all families. To do this we will become the market leader in delivering safe and affordable lighting and power solutions to over 1.6 billion people who currently do not have access to electricity. In India we are launching a product line of improved lighting and energy solutions to 78 million families still using kerosene lanterns. From there we will
expand to a platform of power products.
The company is funded by both Silicon Valley and Indian investors including Mahindra & Mahindra, Nexus India Capital, Acumen Fund, Garage Technology Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Gray Matters Capital, and we have offices across three continents.

You are an extremely competent and motivated Senior Sales and Marketing Manager with comprehensive knowledge and experience in managing the complex operations of a pan-India consumer durables company. You are eager to work outside of a corporate environment, in a fast paced and energetic start-up, and are ready to challenge yourself to build a nation-wide enterprise. You are confident of attaining great results, have a track record of achievements, and are ready to contribute to building a results oriented culture. You have delivered strong sales growth in deep rural and semi-urban India, and you are well versed in forecasting in highly uncertain markets. You have successfully launched new consumer products and categories through open market distribution, you have contributed to building a new brand in India, and you also excel at managing a growing multi-cultural sales and marketing team.
You are also strongly motivated by the opportunity to improve the lives of millions of families with high hopes but little income. You must have deep experience with rural and semi-urban Indian marketing campaigns and running aggressive promotional activities consistent with the budgets of a small-tomedium- sized consumer goods enterprise. You must be comfortable working with various market structures and channels, and at the same time be comfortable analyzing and optimizing promotional efforts to achieve maximum impact at the lowest possible cost. You will be expected to develop the marketing strategy that will lay the foundation for a truly global brand.
You are a great salesperson, with a successful track record and at least ten years experience executing sales and marketing initiatives in India. You are extremely entrepreneurial and creative in acquiring partners and leveraging resources. You are driven to succeed and willing to travel extensively and work long hours to propel D.light.
Finally, you are a team builder, ready to build increasingly sophisticated multi-cultural sales teams and a leader who inspires others and acts with the utmost honesty and integrity.
