Endeavor Description:

Endeavor (www.endeavor.org) is a non-profit organization pioneering a new approach to global development by stimulating and supporting entrepreneurship in emerging markets. Working through an extensive network of local contacts, Endeavor screens hundreds of next-generation entrepreneurs, ultimately selecting those who demonstrate the leadership, creativity, ethical grounding and entrepreneurial qualities to build high-growth, successful companies.  Once selected, Endeavor Entrepreneurs benefit from a program custom-tailored to help them develop their businesses, plan for growth, and attract financing. Endeavor also stimulates a local entrepreneurial infrastructure through angel investor training and university partnerships. Headquartered in New York City, Endeavor currently has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Mexico, South Africa, Turkey, and Uruguay. Endeavor recently launched its operations in Jordan, with the aim of becoming the leading supporter of high-impact entrepreneurship in Jordan.

Communications Officer's Purpose:

Endeavor Jordan is seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to develop and maintain an Endeavor Jordan branding strategy; produce relevant marketing materials; and organize media events and international selection panels.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Marketing & Branding

  • Manage the Endeavor Jordan brand.
  • Work with the Managing Director to coordinate Endeavor Jordan's public image.
  • Keep abreast of conferences and events by maintaining relationships with other local entrepreneurship organizations.
  • Coordinate with Endeavor Global regarding material from Jordan for the annual Impact Report.
  • Work closely with contacts in media industry to build awareness of Endeavor Jordan.
  • Devise programs and creative strategies for marketing & branding Endeavor Jordan.

Creation of Marketing Materials

  • Maintain Endeavor Jordan's website and continuously update it with news and events.
  • Coordinate with Endeavor Global regarding any Jordan information on the Global website.
  • Produce a quarterly newsletter for Endeavor Jordan network members.
  • Create and distribute press releases as needed.

Event Management

  • Work with the Search & Selection Team and Endeavor Global to organize Endeavor Jordan's annual International Selection Panel, involving high-profile business leaders from Jordan and the international network.
  • Plan periodic events with Endeavor Jordan's network members in collaboration with Entrepreneur Services.
  • Organize press conferences and other creative media events.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-4 years of prior relevant work experience in Marketing and Communications/Public Relations (prior experience will not be a deterrent for the right candidate).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic (fluency in both languages is a must).
  • Strong ability in writing press releases in both English and Arabic (experience as a Copywriter is a plus).
  • Strong interest in entrepreneurship, business and economic development.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative, flexible and able to balance multiple priorities.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Strong computer software proficiency (Word, Power Point).
