The Area:

The Fundraising and Communications team manages all external relations and outreach activities to attract funding critical to KOMAZA's success and to raise awareness of our unique, transformational business model. As a "triple bottom line" social enterprise, KOMAZA's vision fits into many diverse funding opportunities. The goal of the team is to gain as much visibility and support as possible to ensure the expansion of our operations and the execution of our mission and impact.  

The Fundraising and Communications team's objectives are to:

  1. Develop and implement innovative and creative fundraising strategies and programs that support KOMAZA's ambitious growth plans
  2. Create traditional and online communications strategies designed to reach diverse audiences who are critical to the success of our organization
  3. Track funding opportunities, deadlines and application requirements
  4. Draft and edit proposals, reports, program case studies and other donor-focused correspondences
  5. Develop and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including: institutional donors, high-net worth individuals, government agencies, multilateral organizations, media, the private sector and NGOs
  6. Monitor issues relevant to global development, agriculture and sustainable forestry

    • Social Media & Communications Summer Analyst: work to develop marketing and advocacy materials designed to reach our international network of donors and supporters, using both traditional and online media
    • Fundraising & Communications Analyst: assist the team in mobilizing the resources and support necessary to expand our work and serve an ever-increasing number of families
    • Fundraising & Communications Director: lead the Fundraising & Communications team, partner with the other Directors to lay the organization's foundation and decide its strategic direction

Analysts commit to a minimum 3 months; associates commit to a minimum of one year; directors commit to a minimum of two years.

  • High-quality execution: executing projects/tasks and implement recommendations -  quickly and with flawless accuracy, with great systematic attention to detail
