The Area:

US Branch Organization Development: Though KOMAZA's field operations are located in Kenya, we are a 501(c)3 organization with US-based operational requirements that are critical to KOMAZA's performance. KOMAZA now requires further organizational development to support and safeguard its tremendous growth and its high-quality program delivery to serve farmers. These important support functions include: legal, finance, international recruiting, and administration. Further, this team collaborates with the founder as he fundraises and manages external relations within the US.

Kenya Headquarters Organization Development: KOMAZA is growing exponentially with over 75 field staff and 25 office staff.  Now, in 2010, we must develop our supporting organizational functions to continue as a high performance organization and to deliver total life change to the country's hardest to serve farmers.

In order to secure the necessary systems support and key organizational hires for scalable growth, the Organization Development team must develop the following tools: robust financial controls, scalable administration and human resource management, local public relations, technology, USA operations, and legal counsel support.

The Organization Development Director will lead the Organization Development team of assistants, associates and managers and be integrally involved in implementing KOMAZA's strategic plan. The director will be responsible for financial oversight, budgeting, organization policy, talent management, and recruiting.

The US Organizational Development team - Director, Manager, and Analyst - will execute US-based operations and functional goals - all the while liaising and coordinating with Kenyan staff. The team members will collaborate with Kenyan expat and local staff or the founder to manage US-aspects of: finance, international recruiting, legal, external relations, donor management, and fundraising.

Analysts commit to a minimum 3 months; associates commit to a minimum of one year; directors commit to a minimum of two years.

  • High-quality execution: executing projects/tasks and implement recommendations -  quickly and with flawless accuracy, with great systematic attention to detail
