Entrepreneurship research coordinator - Endeavor Brazil


Endeavor Brazil seeks coordinator to manage our entrepreneurship research efforts during 2010.

The position

Endeavor Brazil started a project in 2009 to increase the availability of data and research on entrepreneurship, project which will be managed by the research coordinator in 2010. This research will be critical to guide our advocacy strategy and foster public policy formulation.

Research topics include the influence of the Brazilian culture in the local entrepreneurship activity, society's attitude towards entrepreneurs, supply and demand for entrepreneurship education and overall relationship between entrepreneurship activity and economic growth. We also intend to produce entrepreneurship indicators on education, culture and overall entrepreneurial performance. Examples of indicators include the ones produced by the Entrepreneurship Indicators Programme of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Responsibilities

  • Structure research projects on entrepreneurship culture, entrepreneurship education or entrepreneurship in a broader sense

  • Coordinate partners and service providers in the execution of the research

  • Write and/or edit papers and books based on the research

  • Organize and facilitate discussions about the research conclusions with partners and specialists in the government, multilateral organizations, civil society and private sector

Requirements

  • Master or PhD (ongoing or concluded) in Economics or Social Science, with five to ten years of work experience

  • Previous experience coordinating and executing qualitative and quantitative research

  • Strong interest in, and passion for, business, economic policy, entrepreneurship, international development and public policy Previous papers or books published in related topics is desirable

  • Fluency in English. Good command of Portuguese or fluency in Spanish with good oral and written comprehension of Portuguese and desire to improve its fluency.

  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Superior interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail

  • Availability for immediate start
