ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) is looking to hire a Senior Associate to support the growth and development of ImpactBase. The Senior Associate will serve as a project lead for the ImpactBase initiative focusing on the program’s operations and product development. This position will report to the Director of IRIS and ImpactBase.
Manage the acquisition of impact investing fund, product and asset manager information including:
o Conducting primary and secondary research to identify prospective asset management firms to list on ImpactBase
o Engaging directly with current and prospective asset managers to collect, review and approve data about their funds and products
Manage the ImpactBase technology platform including:
o Collecting user feedback and specifying requirements for future platform enhancements
o Overseeing technology development activities, including managing relationships with IT vendors
o Supporting platform upgrades and releases
Prepare various analyses based on ImpactBase data for both internal and external stakeholders
Support the overall management of the ImpactBase initiative including contributing to the program strategy and engagement with the ImpactBase Advisory Committee.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The ImpactBase Senior Associate must have capital markets, advisory and/or private equity experience, and 3-5 years total professional experience. Competitive candidates will demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks and projects, leading conversations with executives from asset management and institutional investment firms, and utilizing financial information platforms. Candidates should also be organized, collaborative, independent, and resourceful.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to the financial industry, with strong academic achievement
Demonstrable interest in the practice of impact investing
Analyst or Associate level work experience in investment banking (particularly with a capital markets or financial sponsors group), sell-side research, management consulting, investment management or related fields
Knowledge of and familiarity with financial instruments, private equity and venture capital knowledge preferred.
Experience working in or familiarity with international development, community development in developed economies, social enterprise, or sustainable/responsible investing is a plus
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, online/cloud-based CRM systems, and data management software is desirable
Detail-oriented, with high standards of performance
Personable, engaging presence, diplomatic, tactful, with good humor
Proactive approach to solving problems
This position will be located in the GIIN offices in New York, NY.
