Our client operates a luxurious hospitality resort at the Kenyan coast and is seeking a Marketing Manager.
About the position
The resort requires an experienced and educated Marketing and Communications Manager who will be responsible for all PR, marketing and communications roles within the resort, focusing on strengthening the resorts brand and creating awareness of the product with its partners, clients and trade representatives both domestically and internationally.
Duties and Responsibilities
Devises and implements a PR strategy intended to promote and protect the company brand by reaching out to key audiences including customers, suppliers, media, shareholders and local community.
Maintains all information and serves as the primary point of contact and leader for PR requirements pertaining to the estate for promotion exercises, including the photo library, websites, direct mailers, video clips, media requests and press releases.
Creates and executes marketing campaigns in line with overall strategy as necessary in coordination with relevant departments utilising direct mail, email, social media, web and print advertising.
Maintains a network of key media and industry contacts.
Manages the development and production process of all promotional materials for each activity with relevant agencies and assists with any other public documents to ensure consistency.
Stays updated with the developments in marketing, communications and retail trends worldwide; makes appropriate suggestions to the CEO on new opportunities as they arise.
Strengthen and build the resort’s brand and ensures brand awareness is created through marketing and communication initiatives that are in line with the overall strategy and positioning of the hotel and the owning company.
Identifies and manages the development and execution of promotional opportunities.
Delivers the best possible results in areas of people, products and profit.
Develops and implements an internal communications strategy, in conjunction with Training and HR intended to ensure consistent and effective flow of information across all channels and departments. Develops an annual marketing plan in consultation with the various different areas of the resort including property sales, Golf and holidays on the resort.
Prepares, implements and adheres to department budget and business plan for all advertising, cooperative marketing campaigns, marketing collateral, billing administration, web manuals, and other relevant marketing tools.
· Marketing/Communications or a relevant Degree
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Work with no supervision
· Good Communication and interpersonal skills
· Proven record of successful marketing and communications/event campaigns with excellent references
A minimum of five years’ experience at a similar position in managing high standards of quality and profitability, ideally in a recognised PR/Advertising firm or international chain environment within the hotel or leisure industry.
