Nuru Training in U.S.: December 2012 to February 2013
Scout Team in Ethiopia: February 2013 to September 2013
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Lead the Agriculture Program for Nuru Ethiopia
· Develop and implement agricultural interventions to meet the needs of partner communities
· Emphasize co-creation of Agriculture Program strategy with Ethiopian staff
· Recruit, manage and train Ethiopian Agriculture staff
· Measure solutions based on sustainability, scalability and impact
· Track progress toward meeting pre-determined goals and exit criteria
· Manage program budget efficiently to meet goals
· Work effectively under the Agriculture Senior Program Manager
· Translate Nuru’s development philosophy and methodology to operations on the ground
Required Skills and Attributes:
· Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business or Agriculture, MA preferred
· At least 2 – 3 years of work/volunteer experience in agriculture, natural resources, international development, project management, or related fields
· Ability to do crisis management and rapid, innovative problem solving in uncertain environments
· Prior experience living and/or working in a developing country; experience in working with the poor
· Strong work ethic
· Strong quantitative and project management skills
· Strong commitment to organization’s mission, vision and theory of change
