I need a very reliable information from your firm on how to build up a successful NGO.I love and care for the African Child that i decided to set up an NGO that would work in collaboration with your NextBillion.net project. I affirm to start the NGO as "Child Survival Project" because the African child has as much right to live just like any other person in the world. The average African child is dying of hunger and indeed puverty. They lack good medical attention, they lack qualitative education, they lack good nourishment;to mention but a few.The NGO when fully inco-operated will be aimed at providing most of these basic needs of the African child.Giving them qulitative education through the award of scholarships, giving them good health care and at thesame time giving them a sense of belonging.I pray you to please put my plea into considerations and i bet you the world will be a better place for you,me,and indeed the African child.
This post will be done in installments to capture the wide breadth of ideas broached at the event.

Elizabeth Littlefield - CEO, Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) – started things off by describing four powerful trends that the microfinance industry will have to face in the next thirty years:

Demographics. In the next decade over 2.5 billion young people in developing countries will be looking for jobs. They will be mobile, urban, and informed. This has major implications for community lending models, remittances, and development of SMEs.

Wireless technology. As NextBillion readers know well, wireless tech has seen enormous growth at the bottom of the pyramid. Cell phones and other technology have the potential to reduce transaction costs and reach remote clients. At the same time it should not distract us from continuing to engage with groups that have not yet been reached by wireless technology.

(This post continues past the break; click "Read More" to continue)
