Hi.. this is kind of embarassing. but I really need some cash. I have two kids that my mother is basically taking care of and Im unable to find work. I need about 8500 dollars to get my own place in a city where there are jobs and pay off my car and place my kids in daycare and pay my mother back. If anyone can help I really would appreciate it. MIcro loans are the best way to help solve the problem of immigrants coming across the Mexico border into the United States looking for jobs. Instead of them coming here, the micro loans will enable the Mexicans to set up a business for themselves in their own country, which will give them a steady cashflow. It's a nearly foolproof way to slow the number of illegal immigrants coming into the country.

What really stands out for me is the repayment rate of US consumers verus the much higher repayment rates of those in Bangladesh and Jamaica. It's almost as if "we" come from an entitlement mode while "they" come from a more integris mode. Perhaps there is a lesson to learn here...

The Bank of Nova Scotia has been running a quiet little experiment in banking for the past three years in some of Jamaica's poorest communities that it says might one day yield results across all its far-flung international operations.

The bank has ventured into the field of microfinance, traditionally the realm of advocacy groups and charities, making small loans to people who otherwise would never be able to borrow from a traditional bank.
