Introducing NB’s New Health Care Editor

I’m excited to announce the newest member of the NextBillion team.
Veteran journalist Kyle Poplin has joined NextBillion as the new editor of NB Health Care.
Kyle has been an editor and reporter for 25 years, working in weekly and daily newspapers, as well as in monthly magazines. He earned a Knight-Wallace fellowship at the University of Michigan in 2009-10. He and his wife Myra stayed in Ann Arbor to launch The Ann, a monthly news magazine that is inserted locally in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
In addition to his journalism background, Kyle also has business chops, earning his MBA from the University of Georgia. Kyle is based at the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan. Drop him an email at kpop@umich.edu if you have health care related news, potential blog articles, or would just like to say hi as an NB reader.
Some of you might be thinking, what’s happening to James Militzer, NB’s outgoing health care editor. Don’t worry, James is staying right here. James is now working hard on a new NextBillion project: NextBillion Financial Innovation, a blog within the NB fold that will focus exclusively on building financial capability and access to low-income people.
We’re looking to launch this new site in September – and we will have lots more to say about NBFI in the coming weeks. So please stay tuned, and in the meantime, welcome Kyle to the NB community.
