Christina Tewes-Gradl and Aline Kraemer

Christina Tewes-Gradl: Christina is a founder and managing director of Endeva. For the last 7 years, she has worked on business approaches to poverty alleviation, in close collaboration with UNDP, UNEP, GIZ, BMZ, EU, Bertelsmann Stiftung, Allianz, BASF, Bayer, Eon and other partners. She is also a strategic advisor to the UNDP Growing Inclusive Markets Initiative and a research fellow at the CSR Initiative of the Harvard Kennedy School. As a consultant with McKinsey from 2002-2005, she has worked with large organizations from the public and private sector. In this context, she has acquired best practices related to benchmarking and peer learning in closed box environments. In 2005, she worked for the SEED Initiative with smallholder farmers in Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Madagascar to improve their marketing capacities for organic rice. Christina holds a Masters degree in Business and Regional Studies Latin America, an MSc in Philosophy of Public Policy from London School of Economics and a PhD on business model innovation. She has co-authored the handbook “Growing Business with Smallholders” on behalf of BMZ.

 

 

 

Aline Krämer: Aline is a founder and managing director of Endeva and leads Endeva’s work in the health sector. She has over 7 years of experience in the area of inclusive business, having developed and led over 20 research and consulting projects. For example, she has led and co-authored the Health and Medicine Sector Market Assessment for AMIIF, the above mentioned study on “Bringing Medicines to low-income markets” for BMZ as well as the business model development trainings on inclusive business in the health sector. In addition, Aline has worked as a project coordinator for the UNDP Growing Inclusive Markets Initiative, coaching and coordinating inclusive business case study authors in Central Asia and India. Aline has published extensively on inclusive business; she is also a demanded speaker on the topic at international conferences and workshops.
