Zeena Johar and Grant Miller

Zeena Johar is the co-founder and CEO of SughaVazhvu Healthcare, which “interplays” affordable health care technologies and innovative human resource solutions as a primary-care service delivery platform for inaccessible rural populations of India. SVHC was awarded the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honor in 2014 and was invited to join the IPIHD Network. She earned a Ph.D. in molecular design from ETH Zurich in Switzerland in 2007 was elected an Ashoka Fellow in 2013 and an Unreasonable Fellow in 2014.

 

 

Grant Miller is an associate professor at the School of Medicine and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University, as well as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research analyzes the determinants of population health improvement throughout history and around the world, and it also seeks to understand the economic, social and political factors responsible for the provision, adoption and use of important health technologies and services. He’s currently spearheading a new initiative to join Stanford with Indian health policymakers and professionals to develop an India-led agenda investigating the social, behavioral and institutional obstacles to health policy success.
