Shizu Okusa
TechnoServe

Shizu is a volunteer management consultant with TechnoServe, a Washington-based NGO focusing on international development through private sector skills and market-based solutions. She is joining the organization to assist the Investment Advisory Team in Maputo, Mozambique having spent two years at Goldman Sachs in New York. At Goldman, she was an Investment analyst on their proprietary investing desk focusing on distressed debt and equity investments.

Her interest in the social finance space stems from being a Socrates Seminar participant with the Aspen Institute and a volunteer with a number of programs relating to social entrepreneurship. Having met a number of inspiring people in the field from all different sectors and walks of life, she decided to take a leap of faith and join TechnoServe in Africa where she will be located for at least the next 6-12 months.

Shizu graduated from the University of Business Columbia’s Sauder School of Business with a Bachelors in Commerce where she was also a Portfolio Management Foundation alumnus better known as a Leslie Wong Fellow.
