Tracy Elsen and Bartley Higgins
New Ventures

Tracy leads strategic communications, branding and outreach for New Ventures, the center for environmental entrepreneurship at the World Resources Institute, as its Communications & Marketing Officer. Prior to joining New Ventures, Tracy worked as the New Media & Publications Manager for the Australia-based Climate Institute, where she was in charge of all online media for the organization’s policy, business and agriculture programs. Tracy helped found and direct media programs for Project Survival Pacific, an organization working on climate change issues in the Pacific Islands, and spent several years working in the magazine publishing industry in editorial, marketing and advertising roles. Tracy received a BA in American Studies from Cornell University and an MA in Media from The University of Sydney.

Bartley Higgins is a research intern with the New Ventures Program at the World Resources Institute, where he has investigated barriers to scaling up distributed renewable energy services in India. Before joining WRI, he spent five years in microfinance development in New York City.  In addition, he has completed research for the Asian Development Bank and SKS Microfinance. Bartley holds an MA in International Development from SAIS and a BA from Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
