Max is passionate about developing High Impact Small Businesses. He comes from a financial services background, having worked many years in Corporate and Investment banking in London and previously graduating from University of Cape Town with a BCom Finance, Economics.
He was a Co-Founder and Director of Heart Capital in Cape Town, Africa's first social enterprise incubator and co-founded Hub Cape Town, a social innovation Hub for small businesses.
He was responsible for establishing the South African ANDE (Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs) Chapter, part of the Aspen Insititute in Washington DC.
In 2010, Max was awarded Mail & Guardian's Top 200 Young South Africans, for his role in driving social entrepreneurship in the country. Max speaks at numerous conferences on social entrepreneurship, impact investing and building small business enabling environments.
Max has recently co-founded a new venture, Impact Amplifier, a high-impact small business accelerator based in Cape Town, offering business incubation and capital advisory services. He has a passion for technology, and you can regularly see him surfing down the West Coast, playing Ultimate Frisbee or meditating on his yoga mat.
