Activity Description: LOAN PERFORMER is a database for recording and evaluating microloans. This program has it's roots at the "Uganda Women's Finance Trust" where it was initially developed as the "Trust Information System" in 1995. Development at UWFT took about 3 years, from 1995 to 1998, when LOAN PERFORMER became available as a commercial product. The product had so much potential that CRYSTAL CLEAR SOFTWARE LTD. took over the future support and development. The name was changed into "LOAN PERFORMER " and a lot of modifications were made to make it attractive for other Micro-Finance Institutions. As of today, development continues and more and more organisations want their requirements incorporated into the program. The Kampala Branch of Crystal Clear now has 15,000 clients and has registered over 150,000 savings transactions and 6,000 loans in their database. On 20 October 2005 Crystal Clear Software Limited received the African SMME Award (for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises) in the Information, Communication and Technology sector from the African Centre for Investment Analysis of the University of Stellenbosch, Capetown, South Africa. The Africa SMME Awards are presented annually and aim to recognize excellence among small and medium businesses in Africa.
