Activity Description:
The Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (Pikom) has unveiled its PC Gemilang program, which offers top-line desktop computers to the public for around US $250 (RM 1,000). The new, lower prices for PCs will enable more Malaysians, especially those living in rural communities, to own their own computer. Only 26 percent of the five million households in Malaysia own computers; according to Pikom estimates, the rate for rural households is just 9.6 percent.
