Activity Description: Remit2India.com, a division of timesofmoney.com, has partnered with PayPal to launch FastTrack, a way to offer cheap money transfers to India from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Singapore. While transfers from some countries are free, others are subject to a low, flat-rate fee. Even for those countries that must pay for certain transactions, all transfers over a certain amount are free of charge. The money is taken from the sender's PayPal account and transfers are wired directly into the recipient's bank account at one of 54 selected banks in India.

PLEASE DON'T TRANSFER MONEY THROUGH REMIT2INDIA

HOWMANY EVER TIMES U CALL THEM THEY TELL SAME STORY............

See my last mail i sent to remit2india@timesofmoney.com, komal@timesofmoney.com, pritam@timesofmoney.com

Hi Sir/Madam,
I had transfered $9999 in the month of March 2006 and Again i transfered $2007 in April 2006. For both the Transfers the extra money + difference in conversion were messed up. And when i talk to one of the representative they said the balance amount will be credited back to benificiery account. Its been 4 weeks now talking to 4 representatives, telling same thing over and again that this weekend it will be credited. Last time i spoke to Sanjay and Today to Pritam. Sanjay said last week it will be done and Pritam says this weekend. Ok let me try this week and if its not happening then i will be intimating this fraud transfer to my US Bank and let them credit back my $$$ and take necessary action. Please make sure it will be credited this week.

I made $1000 transfer to my Citi NRI account, I gave incorrect account number. They didn't transfer the fund. I called the customer care, they are not giving proper reply. I also put the remit2India agent with Citibank phone officer asked him to provide the tranaction detail, they are unable to provide any information.

I have filed this transaction as a fraud. Also filed a compliant in FBI online crime.

Never, Never use Remit2India to transfer money to India

Hi All, I recently did a money transfer through remit2india. After 2 weeks, my money was not delivered in india. I called their Customer care(ISD call) many times, buy they never give proper reply. When ever i call, a new person will attend the call, and i have to tell them the whole story. The worst part is, they tell us that they will solve the issue in 24hrs everytime. But never care to even reply us. It was a nighmare for me. Unfortunately i didnt see this discussion before making my remittance.. Pls be aware of Remit2India.. I dont think there is difference between Hitting your head on wall and making a transaction through Remit2India.. Regards, nidhi.

Hi All I have had a very bad experience with Remit2India. They have transferred less money than what they deducted from my US Bank. I tried contacting them but they are of no help and customer service is really BAD. they are not giving a damn about the issue. I would like to know if there is a way i can put up a case against them? I have all the evidences (chat transcripts and transaction details) and these evidences clearly prove that Remit2India have committed a fraud. So If any one knows how to file a case against Remit2India Please let me know.

Every service has some drawback i had a very good experience with remit 2 india. I transerred $10K and was given less exchange rate, but after i spoke to there customer care they verified that the rate applicable is not the rate of booking but the rate when the money travels and reaches the indian account. They also helped me in booking the transaction by increasing the limit. They provided me such a great service that i want to praise them. Regards Sameer

I swear such a horrible service, i have never seen in life. After their numerous calls i initiated a money transfer to my NRE account, but i made a blunder, i have a status as "DC" Returned. Their customer support says that the systems are down, their toll free number is not reachable, their website doesn't say anything at all. Pathetic i would say

Hi all, Has anyone had any luck in taking further action against Remit2India? They clearly have a tremendously bad reputation and work very unproffesionally- with lack of communication and customer services but not only this they actually appear to be braking the law. Raj, you say you have good evidence against them, have you any success in filing a case? Best Regards, H. Handmade Jewellery Business

They have the worst customer service on the planet. One Mr. Arun from sales kept calling me like a thousand times asking me to do a transaction. It was the other way around from the moment money went in their hands. It was a nightmare and i ended up begging for my own money. During my nightmare of getting my money to my parents in India i talked to about 10 different girls posing as customer relation managers and who had absolutely no idea what they were doing or saying. It is a pity that I was helpless against the illiterate and amature staff and no one (and I mean no one) was actually interested in understanding my suffering. I was very frustrated during the whole episode and at countless times i felt like It is going to take ages. Moral of the story: if you have some self esteem and you do not tolerate nonsense please dont get trapped.

Hi everyone, I initiated a transfer of $14,000. and since I was transferring such huge amount they promised me to give a better rate. The rate they actually gave me was much less then what ICICI would give for 5000$ and they told me there would be no fees. Instead they charged me $15+Rs200. They also promised me a bonus, but leave bonus of Rs 250 , they charged me so much money on top of It. Also, many branches of banks are not listed with them, so you have to pay Rs 150 extra for your demand draft . Seriously they are big cheaters, first their representatives will call you everyday and bug you and the moment you will initiate the transfer and when they wil cheat on you , you will not be able to get hold of them. I would strongly recommend not to use REMIT2INDIA, if you want your money to be safe.

I had same terrible experience dealing with several respresetatives who has no clue what they have been talking. I have also lost quite bit of money becuase of wrong exchange rates. I am proposing if we all can get together and try to get them media attention by printing our experiences in some of US News Paper i.e. Wall Street Journal. If several people will send e-mails to media, I am sure they will print that.

Hi, I am NRI from Australia and first time I had sent money back home in India and it is almost one week and I am still struggling to get an answer. Remit2india website shows standard status "Money awaited " and same with Toll Free Numbers. I had sent many mail to their customer care but with no luck. I fear I got trapped with this cheat company. Money is urgently required at home and I do not what else I can do ? Can anyone of you advise what is the procedure to cancel the transaction so that I can get my money back from these cheaters. My advise never ever get trapped with Remit2india as they are CHEATERS and must be hurting many NRI;s like me

Rajeesh, Once the same situation happened to me. The thing is it depends on 'to which bank u send' Actually they are not cheaters. Don't worry about that. My sister had bank account in SBI. i sent money to her account through remit2india. after 10 days i came to know that she didn't receive money. I called customer service then they told that because of SBI it happened late. after 5 days she received. so keep on call customer service and try to talk to manager and tell about your situation. All the best.

I've a very interesting experience and an observation to share on this subject. In the recent past, I've been contacted by Remit2India representatives repeatedly for using their services to transfer money to India. I never revealed my info to them but somehow they got the info they needed in order to approach me for using their services. Remit2India claims to have been offering the best exchange rate to transfer money to India. Infact they have been advertising an challange on their website to match any exchange rate however unless you observe their transaction and service fee, you would never know that they are actually paying you less than what others are paying. Consider an example of a normal ACH transfer of $50 from your US bank account to any of the Indian Bank account where Remit2India offers an exchange rate of Re. 39.39 where as others offers and exchange rate of 39.29 (in actually for $50 the diff is only Re. 0.02), you would bee happy to see assume a difference of (50 * 39.39) Re. 1969.5 - (50 * 39.29) Re. 1964.5 = Re. 5. However, the reality is totally different. Remit2India charges minimum transaction fee of $3 (they are not charging this for the limited period) and not only this but all the transaction are charged a 1% service fee that will reduce ur remitance amount by Re. 19.695 resulting in a loss of Re. 1964.5 - (Re .1969.5 - Re. 19.695) = Re. 14.695. You may note that the assumed gain of Re. 5 is in actuall a loss of around Re. 15. Consider a generic example where the Remit2India exchange are more by Re. 0.15, if other money transfer service (e.g. ICICI without any service charges or transaction fees) offers an exchange rate x, Remit2India offers (x + 0.15) - x/100 i.e. for every Re. x offered by ICICI, Remit2India offers Re. x + 0.15 - (0.01 * (x + 0.15)). In other words, unless they offer an exchange rate 1% more than others, you will always be at loss. Enjoy....

I have transfered £000, . It has been 10 days now, I'm chasing everyday, I never saw any customer services without a direct contact number...except this Rubbish Emit2India.The number provided in the website directs to sales department, who are not aware of any customer queries.I had confirmation from my bank stating that they have transfered money, I'm still chasing... I'm pissed off with this transfer and trying to get some managers numbers to explain the current situation.

This is a BS service. I could have drawn up a DD locally against SBI or any other bank in the US that does INR DDs and still could have got hte money in good time to my parnets in India. Every time the story is the delivery will be in 2-3 days once the funds are confirmed. however funds get confdirmed and debited one one date and then it has taken about 2 weeks for the money to reach India. I had avoided this service like the plague for a coupel of years. Recently I found that they had introduced something called "Rupee Express". This promised the same 2 day delivery and I decide to try once again. They also had a new "mobile alerts" to let me know what happens to the transaction via SMS. The same story but this time after two weeks the money had not reached yet. So I write to them and ask about the status. I get a response that indicates that there were some details missing in the transaction and hence the money could not be delivered and that I should update the beneficiary details. It took them 2 weeks to find out that the beneficiary details were incorrect. It appears that they have a phone number from what peopel have said here, however when I call all I get is a status update that says that the money has been dispatched. This is a ridiculuos service. Preloaded cash cards may be a better option. Even if you have to do a few of them. Now I have the long and arduos process of getting my money back from these incompetent company.

Friends, I am going through tough time with remit2india and I have transftered over $20,000 after 3 weeks the money has not reached my NRE Account. The customer service is so pathetic they keep saying give us 24 hour notice we would find the status. Every time new customer rep would be handling your call but the same answer (24 hours time). Do you know how to file a complaint and get the money back from them ? Please put the link or procedure in the thread so people can follow. They never respond to my emails if I send it to info@remit2india.com but the customer service would ask us to send it to that email address.

I can suggest something which may help. Having many problems with a major organisation called Ikobo, whose attitude toward those of us trying to fund social missions leaves much to be desired, I began to investigate prepaid credit cards and found the result favorable. Finding that even the suppliers hadn't considered this as market, I opened a Facebook group for discussion and raising awareness. http://www.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?members&gid=6381579023 Jeff
