Activity Description: Through its "Patrimonio Hoy" program, CEMEX assists poor Mexicans build their own homes by expediting the process, improving the quality, and reducing the costs of the construction. In coordination with self-help groups and a microfinancing scheme, CEMEX sells its clients regular installments of building material. CEMEX helps these clients plan the construction process well, in order to prevent the waste of resources, to improve the finished house, and to accomodate for possible future needs to expand the size of the house. CEMEX also uses its international stature to secure its clients quality building materials at low prices.
