Track 1 – Getting Started in Doing Business with the Poor: Learning Journeys of Leading Companies from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Sustainable Livelihoods ProjectExperiences of national and multinational corporations from around the globe
Shifting mindset: Introduces Sustainable Livelihoods (SL) business models and presents different approaches to integrating the poor into a company's core operations, either as customers or as part of the value chain. Based on case studies, this session builds an analytical framework to help design new SL business models. Facilitated roundtable discussions on key business questions focus on developing SL strategy in the context of participants’ own operations.
